Add a tech and connect their phone
For the office
Add a tech with Add a tech on the Team page. Barrierline makes the invite, and you paste it into your own text or email. Barrierline does not send the invite to anyone.
- Open Team. On the Techs tab, click Add a tech.
- Type the Name. Add License / certification no., License expires and Mobile if you have them. The mobile number is saved and shows under the name. Typing it does not send anything. With a mobile number, the invite box has a Text it button.
- Leave Certified applicator ticked for a certified tech. For a trainee, untick it and fill in Supervising applicator and Supervisor’s certification no.
- Click Add and make an invite. The invite shows at once: a code, a QR and “Works once, until” a time.
- Click Copy the invite message. It changes to “Copied. Paste it into a text or email.”
- Paste it into your own text or email to the tech, then click Done on the invite. Or, if you typed a mobile number, click Text it. It opens your own messages app with the message already typed, to that number. You press send there. Barrierline sends nothing.
The message has a link and the code. The tech taps the link. Or they open the app, tap I have an invite, and type the code or scan the QR. Then they make a login with an email and password, or with Google or Apple where those buttons show.
Make another invite. On the tech’s row, click the three dots at the end (named “More for” and the tech’s name), then Send an invite (Another invite once they have a login).
See who has connected. The Signs in column lists each login and when it was last active. An Invited tag means the invite is not used yet. Click Cancel beside it to withdraw it.
Invite everyone a move-in brought in. When a move-in finishes, click Make the invite (or Make the 3 invites, with the number of techs) under Invite your techs. Each tech gets a card with their own QR and code. Click Print the sheet to hand them out, or Copy the message on a card. Text it shows only for a tech with a mobile number, and opens a message in your own messaging app. See Check what came in, move it in, and undo it if I need to.
Good to know:
- An invite works once and lasts 7 days. The invite box shows the exact time. After that, make another.
