I got an invite. How do I join my company?

For everyone

Open the invite link, or scan its QR code, make a login, and you join your company. The invite can also be a code like K7QF2-M9XRT. There is no sign-up form: Barrierline sets each company up with its owner, and the owner invites everyone else.

Owners and office staff use the office website (the owner view in the app works too). Techs use the app.

Owner or office staff, on the website

  1. Open the invite link. The page says Create your login.
  2. If you see Continue with Google or Continue with Apple, you can use one. Otherwise type your email, make a password of 8 characters or more, and click Create login.
  3. If the page says Check your email, open the link in that email. If you then see Email confirmed, click Sign in here. Sign in with the email and password you made. If the page shows Create your login again, click Back to sign in.
  4. Once you are signed in, your code is used by itself. If the page asks Enter your invite code, type it and click Join.

Tech, in the app

  1. Open the link your office sent you. Or open the app, tap I have an invite, and type the code or tap Scan the QR code instead. Then tap Next.
  2. Under Make your login, use Continue with Google or Continue with Apple if you see them. Or type your email, make a password, and tap Make my login.
  3. The app then shows the company the code is for, as the office’s server has it. Check the name, then tap Yes, join that company. The link itself never decides the name: if it is not the company you expected, do not join, and ask your office.
  4. If the app says Check your email, open the link in the email, go back to the app, tap Sign in and use the same email and password. The app then shows the company, and you tap Yes, join. The invite waits on the phone for one day, and only for that email.

I already have a login. In the app, tap I already have a login: sign in, sign in, and the app shows the company for you to confirm. If it says you are already signed in, it shows the company right away. On the website, click Back to sign in, sign in, and the code is used.

A phone someone else used. If another person’s work is still on the phone and never reached the office, the app says so and asks before it signs you in: you can keep that work (this sign-in ends and the other person can send it) or delete it from the phone and carry on. Work that already reached the office is cleared from the phone without a question.

Good to know

  • A code works once, and only until the time in your invite message. If it says the invite is wrong or has expired, ask your office for a new one. Ten wrong tries in an hour means waiting an hour.
  • An office invite is made for one email. Sign in with that email.
  • A login that is already on another company’s team cannot join a second one until the first company removes it, or you make a new login.
  • A tech who signs in on the website sees “Your route is in the app”. The website is for the owner and the office.
  • Sending invites: Add a tech and connect their phone.
