Sign in, and turn on two-step sign-in
For everyone
Sign in with your email and password, on the office website or in the app. It is the same login in both. Owner and office logins can add a second step, a 6-digit code from an authenticator app. Techs are never asked for one.
On the office website
- Type your Email and Password.
- Click Sign in.
If Continue with Google or Continue with Apple is on the page, you can use that instead. For no password, click Email me a sign-in link instead, then Email me a link.
Forgot your password? On the website, click Forgot your password?, type your email and click Email me the link. In the app, type your email, then tap Forgot it?. You get an email with a link. (If the app says This app can’t email a reset link yet, write to help@barrierline.com from the address you sign in with.) It opens Set a new password: type 8 characters or more and click Save the new password.
Techs. The website is for the owner and the office. A tech who signs in there sees “Your route is in the app”. Removing their login on the Team page stops it working at once.
Turn on two-step sign-in
- Open Settings, then Sign-in.
- Click Set it up.
- On your phone, open an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password, or the iPhone’s Passwords app) and add an account.
- Scan the QR on the screen, or type the Key.
- Type the 6-digit code the app shows and click Turn it on.
From then on, signing in on the website asks for the code (“One more step”). The app asks too, for an owner or office login. Set it up on the website first. The app cannot set it up.
Until you have typed the code, nothing of the company opens for that login: not the day, the route, the Inbox, the alert settings or the assistant. Alerts on your phone pause when you add or remove the authenticator app, or change your password. Open the Barrierline app and they come back within the hour, at once if you had to type the code.
Make it the rule. The owner can tick Every office login signs in with two steps, after setting up their own. An office login without it sees the setup next time it opens the office, and cannot turn it off. Otherwise Turn it off is on the same page.
