Photos, the customer’s signature and the service report
For techs
You add photos and the signature on the stop, and you send the service report from your own phone after Finish service. Barrierline does not send it for you.
Photos and videos
- On a stop, tap Photo at the bottom. Or find Photos and tap Take photo, or From library to attach many at once.
- After each photo the phone asks Take another or Done.
- Under a photo, type what it shows in the box that says Condition note (optional).
- For a short video, tap Record a short video (20 s). It is on the phone app, not in a browser.
- For a photo of one bait station, scan or type the station on Scan stations (or Scan more stations), then tap the button that reads Photo of # and the station number, like Photo of #0412. See bait stations.
Photos don’t slow the record down. The record goes to the office first, and the photo follows (more). Until it arrives, the office sees “Photo still uploading from the tech’s phone”.
The customer’s signature
- Under Customer signature, tap Get signature.
- Type the Customer name so the report shows who signed.
- The customer signs with a finger on the line.
- Tap Save signature. To redo it, tap Undo or Clear, or tap Sign again later.
Arizona does not ask for the customer’s signature, so a stop finishes without one. The report then says “Not signed”.
A wood-destroying insect inspection is signed by the inspector, by hand, and nobody else. In Inspection report (WDIIR), under Your signature, tap Sign the report. The stop won’t finish without it, and it needs your certification number on file too.
Send the report
- After Finish service, the big button is Navigate to your next stop (on your last stop, All done. Back to today). Tap Send report under it. A sheet called Send the report? says who it goes to.
- If the customer signed, tap Send report again, or Not yet.
- If there is no signature, the sheet says Not signed yet. The green button is Not yet, so you can get the signature first. Send without a signature sends it anyway, and the report says “Not signed”.
- The phone’s share sheet opens. Pick how to send it, like text or email.
- On an iPhone, the stop shows Report shared once the share sheet says it was sent. On Android it asks Did the report reach the customer? Tap Yes, sent or Not yet.
- If you hand the report over while you have no signal, the stop says Report will go out when you have signal and the button stays Send report. The phone can’t tell it has left, so it does not say it was shared. When you have signal, it says Report shared and the button reads Send again. A report you handed over with signal says Report shared and keeps Send again, even if you lose signal later.
- To send it again, tap Send again.
The report is a PDF with the customer, address, service, times, your name and license, pests, areas, each product with its EPA number, amount and mix, re-entry, and, when there are any, bait stations, findings and notes, the diagram, up to 12 photos, and the signature. Videos and photos past 12 are listed as kept on file.
Good to know:
- What you type under Findings and notes goes on the report and the customer’s page. Anything for the office only goes in a message.
- If your office sends reports by email, it does that from the office, by hand, after you finish. The email is in English and has no photos and no signature.
- The customer can also get their own page. See customer page.
